UK Recycling’s Give & Go Donation Stations return for 7th year

University of Kentucky Recycling, in partnership with Goodwill Industries of the Bluegrass, is continuing to offer their Give and Go Donation Stations for the seventh year. The stations, set up in the lobby of every residence hall and some Greek Houses on campus from now through May 3, are available for students to drop off any items they wish to donate as they prepare to leave campus for the Summer Break.

Students can donate anything from clothes and household items to unopened, non-perishable food items. Food items are donated to the Big Blue Pantry. All other items are donated to Goodwill.

The goal of the program is to encourage students to donate usable items rather than throw them away.

“Give and Go is one of my favorite times of the year,” said UK Zero-Waste Specialist Ryan Lark. “The program helps students reduce their waste while also giving them an opportunity to help their fellow Wildcats.”

The Give and Go Donation Station program is also supported by several other UK departments — TruckingResidence LifeCampus HousingAuxiliary Services and Big Blue Pantry, which all collaborate with UK Recycling and Goodwill to make the program possible.
