Bike Voucher Program Applications Now Being Accepted

One great way to reduce your automobile travel is to invest in alternative transportation, like biking! This is especially important for cities when it comes to reducing tailpipe emissions and improving air quality.

If you’ve been thinking about replacing some of your automobile trips with biking, consider applying for the University of Kentucky Transportation Service’s 2021 Bike Voucher Program!

Now in its seventh year, the program offers the first 100 qualified applicants $400 each in vouchers that are valid at any of four participating local bike shops. The vouchers can be used toward the purchase of a new bike or for bicycle gear and accessories.

An important part of UK’s Sustainability Strategic Plan is promoting safety, health and environmental stewardship by providing incentives and programs designed to increase the number of faculty, staff and students using sustainable transportation options, like biking! These bike vouchers are awarded to reduce the number of motor vehicles on campus, thus reducing the university’s carbon footprint.
