UK Food, Energy, and Water Symposium

The University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) is excited to partner with UK’s National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) to announce the upcoming UK Food, Energy, and Water Symposium.

The symposium will be held on December 7th, 2023 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm in the Jacobs Science Building (435 Huguelet Drive).

Join fellow trainees and researchers working on food, energy, and/or water for the University of Kentucky’s 2023 Food, Energy and Water Symposium (FEWS). This multidisciplinary event brings together people – across UK’s campus, the Lexington community, and beyond – working in these important and interconnected research fields to engage with and learn from each other.

The event will feature plenary talks with Dr. Anne Ware, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Dr. Oliver Heintz, University of Bourgogne. Keynote speakers will include Professor Alison Gustafson, UK Dietetics and Human Nutrition, Professor Tyler Barzee, UK Biosystems and Agriculture Engineering, Professor Kelly Pennell, UK Civil Engineering and Superfund Research Center. The event will also include Food, Energy, and Water breakout and poster sessions.

Registration for attendees – and abstract submission for prospective presenters – can be found below. Please note: This is a two-part registration. The form will prompt you to click a link to Eventbrite to complete your registration. The cost to attend is $20 and includes lunch.

Abstract submission dates: October 6th 2023 – November 6th, 2023.
