2023 Sustainability Showcase

The UK Office Sustainability, and partners are excited to present the annual Sustainability Showcase. Once again partnering with UK Office of Undergraduate Research, UK Tracy Farmer Institute for Sustainability and the Environment, UK President’s Sustainability Advisory Committee, and the UK Student Sustainability Council, the showcase will be held on Wednesday, September 27th from 5:30-7:30pm at UK Healthy Kentucky Research Building Atrium.

Students, faculty, and staff from every area of our campus are leading exciting sustainability-focused programs. These programs provide high-impact research and learning opportunities for our students and faculty, have significant positive environmental and economic impacts on our operations. UK Sustainability programs also provide resources and support for a foundation of equity, diversity and inclusion at the University of Kentucky and across the Commonwealth. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend the Sustainability Showcase to learn more about the exciting array progress of sustainability opportunities and initiatives at the University of Kentucky.

This showcase will also feature an awards ceremony starting at 6:30pm. The winners of the annual sustainability challenge grant awards will be announced along with the third annual staff sustainability champions award.

UK Sustainability and the Office of Undergraduate Research partnered to offer an opportunity for students in all majors to submit their sustainability-related research as a poster for a general audience. Judges with relevant expertise will review all posters and winners will be selected for both undergraduate and graduate categories. The winning posters will be included in the awards ceremony that evening.

The UK Sustainability Showcase will provide students with an excellent opportunities to engage with sustainability programs, network with the leaders of those programs, and learn more sustainability related research at UK.
