A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the scores of student advocates who have been encouraging the University to take a leadership position on climate and transition to renewables for most of the past two decades.

Last week’s announcement that UK plans to meet approximately one third of campus electricity needs with solar power by 2025 represents significant progress toward our sustainability goals. The potential emissions reduction associated with the project position UK to set new climate targets that meet or exceed the current US target of a 50% reduction by 2030. This progress was made possible in large part by the vision and determination of our students.”
