Introducing Hanging Mini Landfill Containers

UK Recycling is committed to becoming a zero-waste campus by 2030, meaning that 90% of all discarded waste will be diverted from the landfill by recycling, composting, donating, or other means. To reduce the amount of recyclable material ending up in the landfill, campus employees who work at a desk may now receive hanging mini landfill containers. These bins attach handily to deskside recycling bins, occupying less space. UK Trucking will swap out your larger, current landfill container when they deliver a mini bin to your office.

Most materials thrown away at a desk are recyclable. Having a smaller landfill container encourages individuals to think twice about throwing materials away since recyclables are habitually discarded into the landfill bin. The presence of a mini bin helps items like paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and other accepted materials end up in the recycling. A portion of the recyclable materials flyer is available on the UK Recycling website.

UK Recycling wants to remind staff, faculty and students that what is recyclable on campus may be different from what can be recycled at home. This is because the material collected at home is most likely sent to a different recycling center. Check with your local government and recycling centers about what can be recycled at home.
